Eighteenth Theory [Incidental Voice]

[Don tends to leave his journal open while he's working. Residents who listen to the daily chatter have probably gotten used to his incomprehensible muttering, rhetorical questions, and strange mechanical noises. Today, though, they hear something quite different:]

What is it, Raph? [Shuffling noise. Indrawn breath.] So that's what they look like. [Loud crash.] Is it really necessary to destroy my lab? [Horrible rending noise.] It doesn't matter. I can build those again. You're mine, now. [A brief scuffle. A heavy thump.]

[Silence.]

((Hiatus. At least until the 15th, maybe longer. Leaving the country, no internet, tl;dr I'll be having fun while Don suffers. I'll make it up to him when I get back.))

[His voice is level and his expression is stony, but his eyes are glassy with unshed angry tears.]

I was sittin'...[He gestures to just outside the open door.] right there.

Not your fault those bastards don't know how to stick around for a fair fight. [ More than a little bite in the tone as he says that, but he takes a breath and lets it slide for now. The barracks won't know what hit them later. ]

Do me a favor, stay over at my place. We can come back later.
