March 3. Weather colder than I had hoped. Snowsuit good idea, must try to replicate at home. Did a lot of thinking and made campsite by mid-afternoon. Worked through remaining daylight.

March 4. Meditated all day. Nothing.

March 5. Meditated all day. Nothing.

March 6. Meditated all day. Revising prior analysis of "nothing" -- am much better at meditating than I used to be.

March 7. Went hiking today. Weather much warmer. Area, and views from it, very interesting. Really is an ocean now -- would like to go there in the summer. Thought about a lot of things. Watched the stars come out. Talked to Derek. Missing family and friends but not ready to go back yet.

March 8. Meditated again. Think I made contact.

March 9. The string moved!

March 9 - Later. Master Splinter here. Talked to him and Mikey. Have permission to finish what I came here to do, but will have a lot to explain when I get home. Must remain focused - can't stay away from my family like this for nothing.

March 10. Feel wonderful. Want to talk to Master Splinter about so many things, but still not ready to go back.

March 11. Much progress today.

March 12. Tried using magic with bo. Liked results.

March 13. Walked today, communicated with spirit. Should have come here months ago. Understand a lot now. Ready to go home.

((Don is in the mountains for a while. Post will be updated over the course of his journey and can be used for any plotty things that need to be played out.))

[Anyone else would have an awfully difficult time spotting a turtle in the jumble of boulders, but Don knows about Derek's night-vision, and so isn't surprised that the man picks him out so easily.]

[Philosophically:] I'm getting better.

...didn't go very well?

[He probably shouldn't have to say what didn't go so well]

Actually, it wasn't that bad.

[He gestures to the rocks next to him.] Sit down?

[Derek hesitates, but then, he has eaten dinner. As long as Donnie doesn't treat him to any spikes in pulse or reaction, he should be all right.

He tries to move normally, but it's pretty apparent from the seamless transition from crawling up on the rocks to sitting that his reflexes are becoming more inhuman with time.]

Glad it wasn't too bad.

[He's coming off three straight days of meditation. He's more Zen than he's been in months.]

Do you know Mike is here?

[Derek is just holding steady, and doing his best to ignore Donnie's ~~delicious, delicious~~ heatbeat]

Yeah. Ran into him in the forest; pointed him to the house. Take it he got there all right, then?

[A sideways smile.] You get around, don't you? Raph found him, anyway.

Kinda a side effect of my job back home. Staying in one place for too long isn;t an option, really.

Good. I'm glad you guys are all together now.

[He looks up at the stars again.] Nearly.

[Derek nods. For his part, he stares into the woods, watching the slight hints of moonlight and stars on the forest.]

[After a while:] Did you talk to Katara?

Yeah. Seems the message got a little scrambled.

I asked her to wait for a little while.

[He doesn't ask any more. It's nice to just sit with someone after being alone so many days.]

[Derek appreciates it. Between meeting a bunch of New Feathers in the forest the past few days, and alternating that with well meaning people wanting to 'save' him, it's a relief to not have to go through the whole discussion yet again of why he'd refuse a 'chance' at being healed.

After while, he'll look up at the stars himself.]

Wonder if the Filial had constellations.

Hm. [He tucks his hands behind his head.] What constellations would you make?

[Derek thinks about it for a moment, and then points, tracing his finger in the air.]

See those two stars right there? and then the clusters up above? Looks like a rabbit head, I think.

So it does.

What do you see?

[He lifts a hand, tracing vague shapes across the sky, then lets it drop.]

I'm not very good at this.

Hmn.

[Derek falls silent for a while again, before starting to shift into a more upright position.]

I'm glad you're all right. Should probably go.

Oh - [He sits up also, straddling the rock he'd been reclining on.] I'll be staying here a while, if you want to visit again.

[A slight nod, and a slight smile.]

Maybe I will.

Got enough to eat?

[He nods. You probably don't want to hear his calculations regarding how much to bring.]

Let me know if you need more. Got plenty of rabbit and I know where to find some plant life.

[He stands, although it seems reluctant.]

I will. [He won't, because he won't need to, but, you know, theoretically.]
