[When Don opens the door to the storage room, he immediately forgets what he went there for. His housemates will hear him shouting:]

No!

[Later, when he's calmer, a Voice post:]

Derek Bliss has gone home.

[... That's all he can manage.]

[Maybe or maybe not; she's pieced a lot together since back then, and has talked to a lot of other people for their experiences.]

You wouldn't want to see him again? [Something in her expression becomes firm, almost cool.]

[Don't do that, Ami.]

I do, but - not if he's going to look at me that way. [That "what are you, and what do you mean I used to live with you" way.] I can't...

I... just don't think he'd want you to stay away from him.

[At least to her, it'd be the worst thing.]

And if he were here, he'd want to be with you.

[He just shakes his head - how can he answer that?]

It's just what I think. Because if I left and came back again, I'd want to meet you again.

Really? [There's a hollowness to the question, as in "Really, Ami? Think carefully about what you are saying."]

Yes. Because even when we forget, there's a new beginning. If we don't meet again at all, we really lose each other.

[Don's not sure he can agree with this, but Ami is at least pretending to believe it, and that means something to him.]

Mm.

[She isn't pretending. She believes it absolutely. It's happened for her in her world; her belief comes from that experience. And from Usagi.]

Do you think we can meet again?

[He looks over at her.]

It happens.

And if he returns, I'll help you help him to remember. Even if all we can do is tell him about what happened before.

[Well, that could be a better way of doing it. Don nods slowly.]

I appreciated everyone who helped me like that when I came back.

[He can't help asking.] How - how long did it take?

I don't really know, exactly; it was gradual. And, even now I can't really say I remember everything. Just... some things. [Hazy memories of people she was drawn to or nervous around, hazy memories of terrible things she knows are explained by her time in the Dark Kingdom.]

How long until the first thing? [The point when you realized everyone else was telling the truth.]

My journal. Only I could have written that.

[He - hadn't thought of that. But Ami is right: There's a record on the journals of his conversations with Derek. Not their happiest conversations, maybe, but it's proof nonetheless.]

[For the first time since opening the closet door, he offers something like a smile.]

And if you wanted, you could leave something for yourself now. Something with everything you'd want to know, if something like that happened to you.

[He glances around. His journal is - somewhere.]

[She knows that look, Don. Too much time with Usagi means she knows all the variations of 'I lost it' and 'I forgot'.]
