Fifty-Third Theory [Voice/Action for Housemates]
[Snow.]
[After a brief return to nighttime runs, Don had given them up again as the evenings grew too cold. Now, it looks like his morning excursions are also coming to an end.]
[In lieu of running, he starts his day with some vigorous indoor exercise. After that, he sits down at his journal to leave the following message.]
Hello to all the new people. If you need help, the Welcome Center can give you a place to stay. It's just outside the village plaza.
Speaking of the Welcome Center, did anyone else see what's on the calendar there? It says that in a few days Bil will be meeting with residents at the Battle Dome.
[The calendar does indeed list such an event. Of course, it's only because Don wrote it in himself yesterday. After suffering the somewhat-embarrassing consequences of receiving wrong information, he's decided to purposely start an inaccurate rumor, so he can track and study its spread.]
[After responding to any immediate replies, Don closes the journal and goes to find his housemates. He needs to have some words with them.]
((I would be delighted if this rumor did indeed get passed around. If there's any interest, I can put up a log for people trying to attend this meeting, possibly with Don setting up some more-or-less elaborate conclusion to the story, to help ensure that no one suffers any further consequence from this than wasting some of their time.))

So he's sitting in his room, at his desk, referencing various texts and typing away enthusiastically with the usual staccato rhythm of his fingertips drumming against the keyboard. That sound alone acts like a locator for the scientist.
He certainly won't mind any attempt to start a conversation with him, though.]
[Action]
[After drifting around the house for a while, looking out all the windows (as though it might only be snowing in some directions), he finally drags himself to Robert's door.]
[And knocks.]
[Action]
He opens the door, half-smiling - mostly because Don looks so serious - when he does.]
... Hello, Don... Did you need something?
[Action]
Can I talk to you?
[Action]
[Action]
[He gestures down the hall.] In the other room?
[Action]
Obediently, Robert nods and heads down the hallway towards the room in question, waiting for Don's signal for where to sit down and in general make them both comfortable for whatever topic they're about to discuss.
He doesn't seem nearly as ill-at-ease as Don does, for once.]

I don't know if I'll go, though. There's a lot to do at the Welcome Center.
[Voice]
I haven't decided yet if I'm going. I haven't had much to say to him in the past...

[His tone turns more somber.] How's the New Feather Cycle? Seen any Turtles? ... Or Rats?

[Really now. Come on out into the open? When so many people (Law included) want him stabbed until he's full of holes?
Ahaha... right.]

[Who could have done such a thing, pray tell?]

[Hmm. Let's put on our thinking cap...
Now what, exactly what, word per word, was on that calender?]
no subject
I don't think it's funny.

[Which is not Bil's style, don't you think, for that message? No flourish at all. Oh, it could have been one of the other Malnosso screwing with the populace BUT hardly their style either.
So.
Now. Time for some elementary logic. If a prankster wanted to reach any sort of audience, he or she would make sure people were aware that 'something' was going down. Just putting it on a calender wouldn't make much of a difference. It's a calender - most people don't pay that much attention to those.
Now, Donatello, can you figure out the next step in this logic chain?]

[Hey, the boxes on the calendar are not that big.]
[... Possibly Don should have had an accomplice leave this message. This is why he's not the family strategist.]

For our purposes, let's say a day or two. And I wish to return as soon as possible.

Bil left the Organization back in the spring. If you look through old messages in your journal - or in the journal of someone who's been here longer - you might be able to find what he had to say about it. I don't think he's had much power to do anything since then.
