Thirty-First Theory [Action]

[The last thing they remember, they were warm in bed with their other brothers. Now they are two, and for reasons beyond their comprehension they are waking up in a snowbank.

The sun is bright, the snow is wet, and the frigid air seeps into their bones.]

Raphie, I'm - I'm cold.

C-c’mon, Donnie. [He latches onto his brother’s hand and starts pulling him out of the snow.] We n-need a better hidin’ spot.

Okay.

[The two tiny Turtles climb out of the hollow in the deep snow and, huddled against one another, strike out in search of shelter.]

((Five-ish-year-old Turtles, no conscious memories of Luceti. Replies will come from tinytechturtle and saidontmatter. April will threadjack eventually to take her little guys home, but initial rescuing is open to any kind soul who doesn't want to see a pair of young reptiles freeze to death. Hey wait... Raph... [Can't leave little chibi turtles to wander around and get possibly sick. Cold is VERY BAD for reptiles.] It's Fujiko. Your father's Japanese like me and training you in sai, right?

[This human is scary-looking and says weird things. Donnie follows his brother, casting nervous glances over his shoulder.]

[It's scary and it knows his name. They have to run, they have to hide and wait for Master Splinter to find them! So he latches onto his brother's hand and takes off running as fast as he can.

It's...not very fast, especially with his legs going numb and the cold making him sluggish. But he's scared, and he's trying to be a big boy and not cry.]

Yeah, I know. [April pauses to balance the sleepy young turtle on her knee, so that she can hoist him up and lay him against her shoulder.] Okay, these turtles? Not light.

Mm, I remember a time when I tried to pick Raphael up when he was full sized. That was a disaster, to say the least.

Is the house close?

That sounds very much like a disaster, yes. Like a disaster that followed some other disaster. What happened?

Raph was in a fight with someone, and lost. I tried to help him, but the other girls there kind of were of more use than I was.

[Well they're beyond skittish, but hey, Fujiko's skittish herself. So she just goes off to grab them some blankets and soup. No worries, she didn't cook it herself. So she comes back and stands at a distance and sets them down, before backing up hands up to prove she means no harm.]

Raphael lost a fight, huh? Against whom? [April carefully climbs the stairs to the house, fumbling for the doorknob while keeping a tight hold of Donnie.]

I love how evasive everyone is when I ask about how the turtles were getting along here before I arrived.

They probably just didn't want to worry you. If I remember correctly I once avoided telling you how Raph and Don had a crush on me.

[April finds herself staring at the pregnant belly. Like it's an eye magnet or something.]

No. Actually? You're kinda just what they'd go for, probably. I don't know. It's not exactly something I've had to think about a whole lot in the past. [Sort of a lie, there.]

I turned them down because I was in love with someone else already, but after that they avoided me. Raph eventually came around, but I never really got the chance to patch things up with Don.

Take a seat, okay? [This is a conversation they can continue in a minute. April places Donatello beside his brother, trying and sort of failing to build them a pillowy nest.]

I need more pillows. And--we need a way to heat the air in this room. Be right back. [She'll steal more pillows from her room, and Derek's, and Don's.]

They look kinda cute, don't they. Don told me blankets won't help but that body heat could, which I kind of figured out after the night----
