Thirty-First Theory [Action]

[The last thing they remember, they were warm in bed with their other brothers. Now they are two, and for reasons beyond their comprehension they are waking up in a snowbank.

The sun is bright, the snow is wet, and the frigid air seeps into their bones.]

Raphie, I'm - I'm cold.

C-c’mon, Donnie. [He latches onto his brother’s hand and starts pulling him out of the snow.] We n-need a better hidin’ spot.

Okay.

[The two tiny Turtles climb out of the hollow in the deep snow and, huddled against one another, strike out in search of shelter.]

((Five-ish-year-old Turtles, no conscious memories of Luceti. Replies will come from tinytechturtle and saidontmatter. April will threadjack eventually to take her little guys home, but initial rescuing is open to any kind soul who doesn't want to see a pair of young reptiles freeze to death. [Raphie's eyes go wide in horror, and he huddles closer to his brother, not letting go of his hand. He knows he has to hide, but there's nowhere to hide. It's too big, and so bright he can barely see.]

[Donnie also clings closer to his brother.] It's really cold and I don't know where we are... [Agreeing with the human seems like a safe thing to do.]

[He takes a step away from her advances, dragging his brother with him whether he likes it or not.]

[Raphie just glowers at her, letting out a strange growl. He's sure he can't outrun her, but maybe he can hurt her and give them a head start.]

Raphie, don't... Yeah, but... [Looks around at the total lack of anywhere to go.] We gotta...

Y-y-y...[He squeezes his eyes shut tight.] Y-you g-gonna eat us all up. G-go 'way! You're bad!

[He just stares, tightening his grip on his brother's hand.]

You... already ate somebody... [Points to her fat belly.]

No, no! I'm going to have a baby. In about a month or so I'll be a mother.

[His eyes widen, a little sparkle of awe mixing with the fear. He remembers babies. Babies like the little pink rat babies he found under that old newspaper in the sewers, all blind and squeaky with little feet. He liked babies. He tried to take them home in secret and Splinter got mad at him. By the time he found out about it, the babies weren't wiggly and squeaky anymore, and he'd felt miserable.

He remembers this lesson. His expression turns grave, and he whispers grimly:]

'S gonna die.

Hey... Are you two all right? Raphael?? [Bends down and blinks because aklsdjaslkdj dawwww so tiny!] What are you doing out here in the snow?

[You just get wide, terrified eyes as he huddles closer to his brother and starts to lead him hurriedly away from the scary human.]

Hey wait... Raph... [Can't leave little chibi turtles to wander around and get possibly sick. Cold is VERY BAD for reptiles.] It's Fujiko. Your father's Japanese like me and training you in sai, right?

I won't hurt you, I just want to help. Cross my heart and hope to die.

[This human is scary-looking and says weird things. Donnie follows his brother, casting nervous glances over his shoulder.]

[It's scary and it knows his name. They have to run, they have to hide and wait for Master Splinter to find them! So he latches onto his brother's hand and takes off running as fast as he can.

It's...not very fast, especially with his legs going numb and the cold making him sluggish. But he's scared, and he's trying to be a big boy and not cry.]

[Well they're beyond skittish, but hey, Fujiko's skittish herself. So she just goes off to grab them some blankets and soup. No worries, she didn't cook it herself. So she comes back and stands at a distance and sets them down, before backing up hands up to prove she means no harm.]

[Sorry, Fujiko. That's really nice of you and all but these boys have an ingrained mortal fear of humans. It's like the boogey man trying to tuck you in bed at night or something equally messed up and terrifying.

You're going to get the same response you did before - Raph leads his brother off running in the opposite direction. This time, they'll have to find a better hiding spot.]
