Forty-Second Theory [Voice/Action for Housemates]

[Don is feeling a little claustrophobic today. The number of vehicles he has stashed in his workroom has increased to five over the past week, and he's running out of room to build more. He'd been hoping that the wet, overcast weather would break so he could take his work outside, but that didn't exactly pan out. It is sunny today, but it's also unseasonably cold.]

[Determined to continue his work anyway, Don has shoved all the furniture out of the way and set up camp in the living room, surrounded by a mass of lightweight canvas and metal struts. Hang-glider Number Four is now Under Construction.]

[It's been quite some time since he asked a general question over the journals, so he decides to do so now. Companionable conversation is just what he needs to make the repetitive work go faster.]

If you had access to Shifting technology, and could change something about the world - what would you do? How long would you make it last?

[He also has some things he wants to talk about with Mike and Master Splinter - separately, that is. If they don't stop by while he's working, he'll be looking for them later.]

((Helios recently put a barrier around the Hamato household - if Don and Buffy haven't spoken since the experiment, which it seems like they haven't, then presumably she's not yet on the list of people allowed in.))

[ and around six, buffy sits out on the front porch of house seven. waiting. anxious. her dark-red scythe sits propped up against the outside wall. ]

[Don arrives shortly, wearing a coat he had hoped he was done with for the season.]

[ she is on her feet much, much faster than one might expect a person to react. derek has her so very on edge. haunted, almost. ]

You...you should come in. It's still so far from summer.

[He's used to fast reactions, and suspected you had them.]

Thanks. [He follows her in and sheds his coat.] I got tricked into thinking it was closer...

It hits April and I think we all kinda desperately want to will it to be warmer.

[ she leaves her jacket on. who knows when she might have to leave and she would rather not jump to action without it. ] Please, make yourself at home.

[He sits sideways in one of the dining room chairs and regards her seriously.]

[He shivers.] Mike found it.

Don -- [ actually, she has to stop herself from saying donnie. not only because of their initial name confusion, months ago. but also because it's a homonym with 'dawnie'...the pet name best given to her younger sister in any time of need. ]

[Blank look. He can't really imagine Derek sneaking around delivering dead animals to people's doorsteps.]

If there's any of him left in there, then it's the barest fraction.

[He drops his gaze to the tabletop, and bites his knuckle momentarily.]

It's getting worse?
