[Don is feeling a little claustrophobic today. The number of vehicles he has stashed in his workroom has increased to five over the past week, and he's running out of room to build more. He'd been hoping that the wet, overcast weather would break so he could take his work outside, but that didn't exactly pan out. It is sunny today, but it's also unseasonably cold.]

[Determined to continue his work anyway, Don has shoved all the furniture out of the way and set up camp in the living room, surrounded by a mass of lightweight canvas and metal struts. Hang-glider Number Four is now Under Construction.]

[It's been quite some time since he asked a general question over the journals, so he decides to do so now. Companionable conversation is just what he needs to make the repetitive work go faster.]

If you had access to Shifting technology, and could change something about the world - what would you do? How long would you make it last?

[He also has some things he wants to talk about with Mike and Master Splinter - separately, that is. If they don't stop by while he's working, he'll be looking for them later.]

I suppose if I could, I'd like to discuss it with the other medical personnel here and decide together.

[He's quiet a moment, and when he speaks again his tone is decidedly different.] Can I ask you something?

Eh? [She nods slightly, put on guard by that tone but not willing to refuse rudely.]

Go ahead.

[He hesitates again before asking:] Could you recommend me an especially discreet and trustworthy doctor?

Eh?

[There's a brief silence as she thinks about this.]

Anyone at the clinic should be willing to help.

But someone in particular. [He sounds a little worried.] There wouldn't happen to be anyone who studied reptile biology?

[She shakes her head.]

Not that I know of. Not specifically. [She could read up on it...]

Oh. Thanks anyway.

It might not be my business, so you don't have to answer, but, is something wrong?

Only... I've never been to a doctor before, and I've been thinking I should take the opportunity while I can...

[She can't suggest a vet, even if she knew one. But the truth is the turtle's systems might require that sort of knowledge.]

I can study at the library, if you want to have a checkup.

Um... I think I'd rather see someone else. But thanks.

Of course. [The very reason she'd realized it when he was asking a doctor for a reference to a doctor; he hadn't wanted it to be her. She tries to think.]

If I hear of someone with the appropriate background, I'll tell you right away.

Yes, we do. We attend to them as quickly as possible. [To tell the truth, most of their patients are the walk-in type.]
