Helios, I need to talk to you. About your barrier.

[After this conversation, Don will attempt to occupy himself around the house. He swore off his tools and computer earlier in the week, and hasn't quite figured out yet how to fill his time without them. While he putters, he'll wonder whether anyone will remember that it's his birthday. Probably not. It's an arbitrary date, anyway - unlike six days from now, which will mark his one-year anniversary in Luceti.]

[The thoughts put him in a melancholy mood. Or maybe that's because it's been snowing for three days straight; or maybe it's because yesterday's events have taken a toll on his energy. Whatever the reason, it is a quiet and reflective Donatello that his housemates will find if they come looking for him.]

[As Don wanders around during the day, Raph's trying to inconspicuously move all his crap back into his brothers' room. He hasn't had this much junk in his room since he used to share with Mikey, and he definitely doesn't miss it. He likes his space as Spartan as possible, thanks.]

[Don will wander back into his room just in time to catch Raph trying to cram some stuff into a drawer. This panics him for reasons completely unrelated to his renunciation of his tools.]

[Well that was unexpected. Raph's eyes widen in surprise, and he throws his hands up in a defensive gesture.]

Jeez, sorry. I let you in my room.

[Don crosses the room in two steps and slams the drawer shut, using rather more force than necessary.]

Out.

I'm goin'! I'm goin' already!

[And he does go, but not without slamming the door behind him, making a dive into his room, and slamming that door too. He does not like being put out, but fighting with Don when he gets like this isn't worth it. Still makes him feel like crap, though. So on goes his angry music.]

[After the music goes on, Don slides the drawer open again, lifts up a stack of papers at the back, and touches what's hidden underneath. Still there. He hangs his head and wonders whether he shouldn't just tell Raph the truth.]

[Well, if Don decides to come out in the near future, he'll find Raph duct taping a handwritten 'Keep Out' sign to his door. Nobody's allowed in his room now. They've lost their right.]

Oh Donatello! It's been awhile since we last spoke. What is it? Everything alright?

No. [He'll get right to the point.] Helios, what would happen if something exploded inside your barrier?

Oh. Oh my. Um, y-yes well. Nothing should happen really. I mean the barrier should contain the explosion. How big are we talking? [ This does not sound good. ]

I don't know. But - what if someone was in there with it?

Donatello what exactly happened? [ He sounds worried, because this is a rather worrying conversation. ] No one was hurt, were they? [ A sigh. ]

As for your question the barrier would essentially block it by forming a piece of itself around the person.

No. Someone dismantled the bomb in time.

It would really do that? How does that work?

Oh thank goodness. [ Relieved sigh. ]

Well it's essentially designed to protect anyone with access inside of it. But just as a precaution, in case anyone can break through, I've added a few personal touches of my own to the original spell. [ He does a lot of personal touches to older spells. ]

It's like a barrier within a barrier! Haha. I've never had to use it thankfully.

Helios, your - barrier doesn't do anything against the Malnosso, does it? [His tone indicates he already knows the answer is 'no'.]

[At one point, April will wander out of her room, where she has been spending most of her time since getting back. She observes the keep out signs and, with a sigh, knocks on Don's door.]

[Immediately:] Come in.

[She calls through the door, softly:] Or we could meet in neutral territory.

Tired. Sore. Not sleeping well. What's up with you, Donnie? [She gives him a VERY pointed look indeed.]

[He gestures for her to come in and sit on the bed.] It's been a bad week. [And April may not be aware of all of it.] A bad three weeks, I guess.

[April moves into the room but doesn't sit just yet. Arms folded, tired.]

You were kidnapped. Derek left. The Malnosso put things in my head again. And in a pattern I'm getting very tired of, I built something for someone and they disappeared before I could give it to them.
