Fifty-Fifth Theory [Voice/Action]
[Don has been returned from his mission with the Malnosso. In this case, that means that his guide-droid politely but firmly made it clear to him that sorry, but he had to leave.]
[His journal is returned to him, he's shown to a teleporter, and a moment later he's standing in the village's coffee shop. After getting something - well, a number of somethings - to eat, he settles into a booth and opens said journal.]
Filtered to housemates || Unhackable
Guys, I'm back. I'm at the coffee shop. [Almost as an afterthought:] I'm okay. Robert, can you bring my snowsuit?
End Filter
If anyone was waiting... I'm back.
[Some time later, he adds:] Has anyone heard of a Deadly Nadder? Or a Gronckle?

He bundles the heated coat into his arms like something precious, slips into his winter coat (over his lab coat) and boots, tucks the journal into a pocket and then is off, picking his way over the snowy grounds with all the speed that it's safe to muster.
It shouldn't take him too long, though he'll be a little breathless when he walks into the coffee shop's door with his anomalous bundle.]
[Action]
[Action]
He's here.]
... You... you look well...
... I conclude that the mission was... not too stressful...?
[Action]
They wanted me to study.
[His rapturous tone may be evident even to Robert.]
[Action]
He leans forward, clearly just as fascinated as Don is.] Study? What topic did the Malnosso assign you?
... Was there a significant body of information to study there? What about computer technology...? [Yes, he is inadvertantly grilling Don.]
[Action]
[Grill away - but if Don gets any happier, he might have a seizure.]
[Action]
What sort of information did you learn about them? And are they... a species from here, or... elsewhere?
[Action]
I asked. Someone recognizes them from his own world. Eat, and I'll give you the dissertation.
[Action] | squee is this an unofficial Hiccup/Don meeting
But he's clearly paying enraptured attention.]
[Action]
[Action]
Such are the kinds of biota that he had never had the chance to experience before Luceti.]
... Dragons sound absolutely breathtaking.
[Action]
Ah teh y' m'r la'r, buh liyuwuh hammi sheh 'fi doh geh ho soo.
[Action]
Don. Seriously. You are a man of many paradoxes - a second ago, eloquent and as well-spoken as any Terran scientist.
And then this.]
... excuse me...?
[Action]
[He swallows and calmly repeats:] I'll tell you more later, but Leo will have my shell if I don't get home soon.
[Action]
... Then again, it's not one he's ever really been truly bothered by. This isn't the first time it's happened.]
... Ah, yes. ... Of course.
... Do you wish to take the food with you, or would you rather finish it before you leave?
[Action]
[Action]
Hopefully not standing in the way, of course. That'd defeat the point.]
[Action]
So what were you doing while I was gone?
[Action]
Let's go for a more innocuous one first.]
Ah... amongst other things, I...
... I managed to... contact Nala.
[There's a strange mix of almost-foreboding and... pride, in Robert's voice.]
[Action]
That's great!
[Action]
... I intend to have a proper MRI done whilst undergoing magic training, to... see the effects.
[This is something Don will have difficulty dissuading Robert from.]
[Action]
She gave permission?
[Action]
... Is it... something I need to ask consent for...?
[Action]
Do you mean you want to have an MRI done while you're communicating with her?
